OUR SCHOOL YEAR COMES TO A CLOSE:
So much has occurred this year with the growth of the College and the subsequent expansion of facilities. Our construction continues to inch closer to completion. At this stage the final stages of K Block are being added in readiness for the start of the 2022 College year.
This week we have gathered as a College community to celebrate the many blessings we share and the wonderful achievements of our students. Both the Mass and Academic Assembly reflect the diverse and well-rounded education that is provided at MacKillop College. Our School remains committed to the challenge of educating young people to be fearless leaders of change, developing excellence, confidence, and connection to their individual purpose. To inspire hearts minds and spirits.
The creation of an effective learning environment is not done easily. It is built on the back of many hours of hard work by staff, parents and students. I would like to thank all our parents who have been incredibly supportive and who always go that extra mile to support their children. Your positive support is greatly valued and very much appreciated. Our College Board and P&F continues to work tirelessly for the College. I also offer our appreciation to all other parents who volunteered at any one of the events that took place over the last year or offered support in any way they could. Thank you!
Of course, the hard work to achieve results must be done by the students themselves, but I am extremely grateful for the dedication and hard work of the teaching staff. It is a common occurrence to see members of staff engrossed in extra lessons or activities around the school. It would be easy to forget that so much of this time is willingly given above the demands of full teaching timetables. Time that is freely given to enable the student to grasp the concept, practise another question or unravel the complexities of some theory or argument.
I wish all our leavers every success in the future and sincerely thank them for their contribution to our College. Finally, I wish all our families all the very best for the Christmas holidays and look forward to welcoming you all back, relaxed and refreshed for what promises to be an enjoyable and productive year in 2022.
