When our students started the 2020 school year, no one had any idea the year would turn out like it did! Bushfires, floods and a pandemic; the universe threw a lot at us! We are exceptionally blessed to have a MacKillop Family that has tried their best to push through a challenging year by working together and looking out for each other; these are the qualities that make our school special.
During Term 4, we have held fast to keeping positive and shifting gears as slowly we settled into the new normal and our students did what kids do best – they adapted to new routines and rituals, and we got on with job of teaching and learning. MacKillop continues to make gains in fine tuning our curriculum offerings and strengthening our support structures to ensure our students needs are targeted. Our students excelled in Book Week, Science Week, NAIDOC Week, ICAS testing, music exams, Muster performances, assembly presentations, class projects, and much more. We are very proud of our MacKillop kids and we hope you are too. On Wednesday 2nd December, we will finish the year by celebrating our Year 6 students with a Milestone Ceremony, recognising their achievements as our primary school leaders before they head into secondary school!
