This week we welcomed over 90 Prep students and their families to our MacKillop community, in preparation for 2024. The Prep transition program spans over four weeks, where both students and parents will have the opportunity to learn the MacKillop Way, build relationships with the MacKillop staff and begin to foster relationships with one another. Next year, we will be fortunate to have our first four stream cohort in our Primary sector.
At the other end of our Primary sector, our Year 6 students have been preparing in the transition to Secondary. All our Year 6 students will have had the opportunity to shadow a Year 7 student throughout the term, whilst also attending the Year 7 Transition Day on 16 November. We will celebrate our Year 6 students’ journey at MacKillop thus far at the Milestone ceremony on Tuesday, 28 November.
As our Year 6 Leaders begin the transition to Year 7, our Year 5 students have been learning about leadership. On Wednesday 18 October, our Year 5 students enthusiastically engaged in learning about their personal gifts and the qualities of leadership at MacKillop. Our Year 5 students who are interested in leading as a House Captain in 2024, are currently in the process of completing applications and shortlisted students will present speeches to their peers in Year 4 and Year 5.
